In the Discussion Forum below there are a series of 12 videos of scenes created by and with youth for the Uncensored project. These scenes are amongst those featured in the live interactive Uncensored workshops for service providers. Many of them are now available here on video. The scenes are based on the real life experiences of the youth. They are fictionalized, but true stories. None of the youth in the scenes are playing themselves. They depict "problem" scenarios that the youth have encountered in their interactions with various service providers. They are deliberately exaggerated for dramatic effect and to get at the issues of concern. We invite you, dear viewer - service providers or other youth, to help us find solutions to these pressing problems, by engaging in a dialogue with the videos. Please comment, offer solutions, post images and videos of your own in response.
To comment on the videos you will first have to join the Arts-based Research Studio main Ning site and then, as a member join the Uncensored Group.
As for the quality of the videos . . . We are amateur videographers. Producing high quality videos wasn't our focus. This is more about getting the youths' stories out there with authenticity and vigour. As such, the bulk of our funding went to paying the youth for their expertise and providing them food and bus tickets, rather than to video production.
